About the event:
As a design leader, your ability to balance strategic thinking with creative intuition defines the impact of your work. Using artistic tools – sketching, visualisation, exploratory drawing – can spark breakthrough thinking for your team and clients, while understanding how to guide projects from concept to reality ensures ideas actually get built.
Join us for a live conversation with Christophe Egret, Former Founding Director of Studio Egret West and Founder of Soul in the City. We'll explore how design leaders can integrate strategic vision with artistic expression, and what it means to lead projects that look beyond buildings and infrastructure to the immaterial aspects of urbanism.
Whether you're leading an architecture practice, a design team, or aspiring to, this conversation will inspire you to lead with both rigour and soul.
You will learn:
How to lead with a vision that inspires teams and clients as well as brings tangible outcomes
Practical approaches to integrating spiritual and meaningful dimensions into your work as a design leader
What it means to design cities and places with soul that connect people to nature and something deeper
The role of play, social interaction, rituals, and celebrations in creating vibrant experiences
Register
You will learn
Where design leadership makes the biggest difference today
How to align your areas of impact with business's priorities
What it takes to get to C-level and succeed in the boardroom for the long run
About the speaker

Christophe co-founded Studio Egret West in 2004 with David West, establishing a dynamic and integrated practice where urban design, architecture, and landscape are seamlessly brought together through both strategic vision and attention to specificity.
He is widely recognised for his evocative sketches and paintings, which are often used as part of his creative process. In 2024, he stepped down from the practice to embark on a new venture: Soul in the City – a podcast which aims to give a voice to all matters of urbanism that are immaterial. It explores the spiritual dimensions of urban life through conversations with diverse and thought-provoking guests.
